On September 13th, several AYLUS members crafted dog toys for local animal shelters, a project they had completed multiple times before. By recycling old t-shirts, cutting them into strips, braiding them, and securing the ends, the group created toys to help alleviate the animals’ boredom. Many shelters have posted urgent appeals for fostering and adoption, noting the extended time animals have spent in shelters, leading to loneliness and lack of interaction. RCA wants to help while contributing to environmental sustainability by reducing landfill waste through the repurposing of materials.
