Jericho Branch and Brighter Future Partner for Latino Conservation day 9/15/24

On September 15, 2024, the Jericho AYLUS Branch and Brighter Future Foundations joined forces with the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center for a beach cleanup at Sunken Meadow State Park. The event focused on removing trash and debris from the beach to protect local wildlife and maintain the park’s natural beauty. In addition to the cleanup, the volunteers raised awareness about the plight of endangered nesting shorebirds, educating beachgoers on the importance of preserving these species and their habitats. The group also set up an information table, where they shared resources and tips on how the public can contribute to conservation efforts.
