On the evening of September 7, 2024, Pearland volunteers organized the 16th Pearland My PlayClub. Volunteers arrived early to set up outdoor adaptive games, bucket drumming, and face painting/tattoos. Thanks to the pleasant weather, the event saw a great turnout.
The adaptive fishing game was a highlight, allowing kids to practice casting and reeling in front of an ocean-themed board with painted sea creatures. Volunteers, hidden behind the board, attached bags of goldfish crackers and other snacks to the hooks, delighting the kids as they “caught” their prizes. Face painting was another popular station, with children choosing from designs like Spiderman, unicorns, and flowers, which volunteers expertly painted.
The 16th Pearland My PlayClub was a huge success, with nearly 100 children and their families enjoying a variety of adaptive games and creative activities. The event fostered an inclusive environment where special needs children could engage, have fun, and bond with peers, while volunteers contributed to making it a memorable experience for all.
