AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families through NOSH delivers! Food Pantry (28th) on September 7th, 2024

On Saturday, September 7 from 9 AM to 12 PM the team of AYLUS helped the food pantry at nosh deliveries. When we were there, we helped people in need get food bags or food on the shelf.

Nosh is in an organization that helps people in need. The nosh food pantry location at Glen Cove, we had the honor to work with them as AYLUS volunteers. At nosh, there were many food options for people to choose from; there was a great variety such as canned food, rice, pasta, and even fresh produce. There, we packed nosh bags filled with canned food like dark red kidneys, small bags of rice, water, and a bag of walnuts. We put them in a bag to give to families that needed food to be delivered to their homes. Volunteers were helping with building shelves to store books. We were also helping them with folding the boxes into small pieces to put it on the car.

One of the most important things was seeing the arrival of the donations from big stores like Costco and even local stores. We worked hard to clean the shelves and pack food. Our time at nosh delivery was reminding us of the importance of teamwork. Also, listening to each other and being nice to each other was a significant part of our experience.

Looking at people walking out with big smiles on their faces made us feel great. It was what we wanted to see—that our work with nosh was able to help people.
