AYLUS Idaho Falls Branch Helps Museum of Idaho for Pop-in Program: Space (September 7)

On Saturday September 7, two members of the AYLUS Idaho Falls Branch volunteered to teach museum visitors about rockets, planets and how astronauts train for space. After visitors interacted with each station, they had to opportunity to try on firefighter equipment to get a better feel for the bulkiness of astronaut suits, design their own rockets or missions, and play space games.

Michael Wu teaches visitors about the fascinating process of working out in space and how astronauts deal with weightlessness on the ISS.

 

 

Zach Long teaches visitors about how rockets work and how each components work together to allow astronauts to fly to space.

 

Michael Wu: 3.5 hours (2 hours volunteering, 1.5 hour planning and contacting)

Zach Long: 5 hours (4 hours volunteering, 1 hour planning)
