On August 31, 2024, fifteen members of the Frisco Plano Branch volunteered at Russell Creek in Plano for a fundraising event. We set up stalls selling a variety of items, including boba tea, shaved ice, and cotton candy. Local vendors kindly donated items such as backpacks, pillowcases, and desk organizers, which we also included for sale. One of our talented members even handcrafted cute clay bracelets. The proceeds from this sale will support our “Loop for Love” Project, where we provide knitted or crocheted items to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. As we focused on selling our goods and talking with our customers no one noticed the dark clouds gathering overhead. Suddenly, it started to rain, and the downpour soon became bigger, forcing us to move our stalls into the pavilion. Staying in the pavilion we continued selling until we ran out of cups. The day was filled with challenges but also unforgettable moments of teamwork.
