Syosset AYLUS Members Volunteer at the Eisenhower Farmer’s Market 8/31/24

On Saturday, 8/31, Syosset AYLUS members went to the farmer’s market at Eisenhower Park. The farmers market is a perfect place for local businesses to come together and share their goods with the community. From crochet goods to baked treats, there’s something for everyone at the farmer’s market. In addition, it’s the perfect place to get some fresh air and pick up fresh groceries. This week, the annual arts and crafts fair was also held at Eisenhower Park just across the farmer’s market. Dozens of stands were set up selling goods varying from jewelry and clothes to toys making it a great attraction to the public. Due to the surplus of guests, many vendors at the farmers market decided to stay even longer.

AYLUS volunteers arrived bright and early at 8:30 in the morning just to help set up. On this particular morning, all the booths were shifted in order to be closer to the arts and crafts fair. Students helped set up tents, tables, and the ones of other vendors. An activities center was also set up for any youth visitors at the farmers market. This tent doubled up as an advertisement for Taste New York as the vendor no longer is set up at the field of the farmers market, but rather a building a short walk away. Volunteers also helped keep count of the arriving guests and finished off the day by packing everything up.
