Greater Princeton & Far Beyond AYLUS Volunteers at Half Marathon in Mercer County (3rd) in September 2024

On Sunday, September 1st, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) members volunteered at the 2024 Mercer County Half Marathon hosted in the Robbinsville Community Park (15 West Manor Way, Trenton, NJ 08691).

This course (formerly used by the Star of Hope Half) takes runners through beautiful country roads in Robbinsville Township. The course starts at Robbinsville Community Park, passes by scenic farmlands and the historic Robbin’s House.

The course is a USATF Certified 13.1 mile course, mostly flat along country roads. The course will not be closed to traffic, but this is a rural area. Police and certified flagmen will be at all road intersections. Road course support will “officially” end at approximately 11:00 AM. However, don’t worry, as this is not a hard cut-off time. Our pace team sweepers will stay with the last few people for support and encouragement! And the finish line archway will not come down until everyone has crossed it. Runners/Joggers should aim to maintain a minimum average pace to finish in about 3 hours (13:44/mile).

GPA members helped at the Water Stops, Race Day Registration & Bib Pick Up, On Course Bike Support, Bike Lead, Course Marshals, Clean Up/Break Down, Parking Attendant, Race Set Up, Finish Line Help, and other positions.

GPA Volunteers (9/1, 7 am-11 am): Erick Yan (4 hrs), Yalong Zhang (4 hrs), Yitong Huang (4 hrs), Sophia Liu (2 hrs), Andrew Chan (2 hrs), Michael Yang (4 hrs), Jonathan Yang (4 hrs), Chris Ren (4 hrs), Yiheng Wang (4 hrs), Keefer Kohli (4 hrs), Xintong Si (3 hrs), Frank Sun (3 hrs), Allen Ma (3 hrs), Angela Butz (3 hrs), Max Xie (4 hrs), Manfred Yan (3 hrs), Gloria Wang (3 hrs), Stephanie Liao (4 hrs)
