From July 29th to August 2nd, West Essex branch volunteered with Zen Wushu Academy (356 NJ-10, East Hanover, NJ 07936) to assist in wushu summer camp activities. Members worked as teaching assistant to help teach wushu forms/weapons; lead warm-up/drills and stretching activities; correct students’ forms and poses; make sure safety issues during obstacle courses, take class pictures and videos; lead art and craft sessions during camp hours; look after camp students during before-care and after-care; Shadow students during trail hiking trips once a week.
Members also assisted in office tasks, including set up tables/chairs for lunch everyday, clean up after lunch, wipe exterior windows, clean waiting area floor, replenish toilet paper & hand towels in bathrooms, clean toilet rooms, help with organize school equipment, etc.
