On Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 12:00 – 4:30pm, four AYLUS members volunteered at the Special Olympics Summer Sports Classic Bocce event at the M Health Fairview Sports Center in Woodbury as Bocce Pitch Assistants. Duties included judging matches, registering athletes and bringing them to awards, as well as keeping score of the matches and packing up equipment after the competitions. Overall, this was a truly inspiring experience! It was extremely rewarding to assist members of the community to have fun and play sports in a competitive environment. We can’t wait to come back and partner with Special Olympics in the future!
