Youth volunteers with experience in serving the special needs community were called upon to design inclusive, youth-led activities for future special needs programs. To gather evidence-based practice information for a state grant application, the Special Needs Caring Center of Light and Salt Association engaged several youth organizations in collecting feedback and designing future inclusive activities. Under the guidance of the center’s director and lead instructor, the youth volunteers evaluated current practices, identified areas for improvement, designed future activities, and developed work plans to be incorporated into the grant proposal.
