AYLUS Great Neck Branch hosts AAPI event at the library (4th) 8/23/24

On Friday, August 23rd, the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted an AAPI event at the Great Neck Public Library from 4pm to 5pm. AYLUS volunteers read AAPI-themed books to younger children as well as provided various crafts and activities to take part in. Victoria Wang read the book, “Big Red Lollipop” then Sophia Li read, “Eyes that Speak to the Stars” and lastly Rebecca Xu read, “Hair Twins”. After the volunteers read, the children took part in a variety of crafts and activities; which included friendship bracelet making, using Playdoh, and sugar drawing. Adena Yang and Serena Chen both aided in creating sugar drawing for the children and creating different objects out of playdoh. After the reading part of the event, all volunteers helped with the crafts and activities. Through this event, everyone was able to learn about different cultures, traditions, and family. It was a very fun and joyful day. We thank everyone who joined us!
