AYLUS Roslyn Volunteers with Wheatley Farm and Arts Center (1st) on August 17th, 2024

On Saturday, August 17th from 1:00 -2:15, AYLUS representatives toured the Wheatley Farm and Arts Center, a part of AHRC Nassau. This organization helps people of all ages with special needs and IDD by providing educational services and opportunities, to help teach responsibility and help them experience normal activities. For example, this center has farm animals like cows, pigs, and goats that the kids can take care of. We learned about the importance of this cause and the current need to support people with disabilities and what we can do to help. We explained our plans, which closely aligned with their goals for future partnership. We are excited to partner with this center as well as other similar centers to promote music education for kids and adults with special needs, as music is a fundamental part of emotional and mental development for kids. Our hopes are to bring music education to those who are not fortunate enough to receive it.
