On 8/17/24, Syosset Aylus members returned to the farmers market held at Eisenhower Park. This market is the perfect opportunity for local vendors to share their goods with the community. From crochet goods to candles, this farmers market never misses. Citizens come together every Saturday whether it’s to pick up local produce or to have a relaxing time.
Despite a cloudy start, volunteers arrived as early as 8:30 in the morning to help set up the different booths and tables. From the main booth, guests can learn more about the farmers market and ask questions. In addition the guest count is also collected to organize the number of visitors. An activities center is also set up with different crafts and worksheets for the little ones. After another successful day at the farmers market, everyone quickly worked together to warp up and finish at 12:30 PM.
Volunteers + hours: Rachel Zhang: 3 ¾ hours, Xuanming Liu: 4 hours, Ranveer Kathpal: 4 hours, Nicole Zhang: 4 ½ hours; Margaret Zhang: 4 ½ hours.
