From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 9th, the Bellaire Branch of AYLUS volunteered at the Houston Chinese American Relief Effort (C.A.R.E) along with many other volunteering organizations at (12131 High Star Dr, Houston, TX 77072)
C.A.R.E (Chinese American Relief Effort) is a charitable organization that has helped families in need. Every year, it selects a poor primary school to donate school supplies and school bags for primary students for the whole year. This year C.A.R.E is partnering with Youens Elementary School to provide all 850 students with a full year’s worth of school supplies bags for those in need.
At this event, volunteers unpacked and carefully sorted out the different items, and packed each bag making sure each contained the correct amount needed for each student.
