AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers at Steppingstone Park (12th) 8/4/24

The American Youth Leadership and Service (AYLUS) Great Neck Branch recently organized a volunteer event at Steppingstone Park to contribute to the community’s environmental efforts. The group of enthusiastic volunteers dedicated their time to cleaning and improving the park’s landscape. Our primary tasks included removing invasive weeds that threatened the local flora and picking up litter scattered throughout the park. This initiative not only improved the aesthetic appeal of the park but also helped in maintaining a healthier ecosystem.

In addition to the physical labor, our volunteers worked to raise awareness about the importance of environmental maintenance among park visitors. By committing to these activities, the volunteers demonstrated the impact of community service and hope to inspire others to take part in preserving natural spaces. Their efforts were met with appreciation from park-goers and local authorities, who acknowledged the positive difference made by the AYLUS club’s commitment.
