From 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 4, the Bellaire Branch of AYLUS volunteered at the Beacon (1212 Prairie St., Houston, TX 77002).
The Beacon is a nonprofit organization that provides services such as essential needs, civil legal aid, counseling, mentoring, and access to housing to individuals experiencing homelessness in Houston. It is part of a network of service providers made up of over 100 agencies, led by the Coalition for the Homeless.
At this event, volunteers assisted with laundry, preparing food, and serving meals to clients. In addition, volunteers also helped clean kitchen facilities and wash the dishes.
