AYLUS Oakland Gardens Branch watered plants at Crocheron Park (08/01/2024)

Today was AYLUS Oakland Garden’s 99th event. It was also the hottest day of the summer this year so far, and the plants would likely dehydrate without our help. We realized that because it was so hot, not many people came to the park.  This allowed us to work quickly and efficiently. We watered plants at Crocheron Park and made sure the plants were all healthy and happy.

This time Jessica wasn’t here to help us water the plants but she was still able to help us by giving us the hose we needed for watering. Shoutout to Jessica! As we were watering the plants we noticed that some of the milkweed plants had lots of boxelder bugs. Their orange and black stripes showing vibrantly. We also had to go to the water fountains to fill  up water in order to water the plants which took a long time.

Overall the plants are growing happy and healthy.
