On July 30, 2024, Pearland volunteers assisted with the LSA Special Needs Caring Center’s day habilitation program (SMILE summer camp). In the morning, the volunteers helped with an art class. In the afternoon, they led a session on healthy living, covering topics such as nutrition, MyPlate, the rainbow diet, and mental health. It was a highly interactive session where participants were divided into groups to play the MyPlate game. They discussed feelings and emotions and how to cope with different emotional states.
