Aylus Roslyn Helps at the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County to Prepare for Their Annual Fundraiser (1st) on July 29th, 2024.

On Monday, July 29th, from 9:30am to 11:30am, Roslyn AYLUS members came to CP Nassau headquarters to prepare for the annual golf and tennis event. Every August, this golf and tennis event is held to help raise funds to support the Cerebral Palsy Association.

Attendees of this event will be given goodie bags of which volunteers have prepared today. Sponsors and supporters have donated items such as snacks and gift cards to help everyone feel welcome and show appreciation for their attendance.

Jovia Financial Credit Union donated 300 cooler bags to place all the items inside. We first took out all the cooler bags from the boxes and opened them We helped set up the various items on the table by opening the other boxes, folding the flyers, setting up the gift cards, etc.

Once all the items were set, we each took a cooler bag and placed one of each item into it. We worked very quick and efficiently. A problem we ran into was not having enough of supplies of each to be given. As a result, we had to make different piles of cooler bags distinguishing between ones that had everything and ones that received less. These cooler bags were then placed into a big garbage bag according to its pile.

Overall, we were able to use our time with much productivity, and even finished before the expected time. By setting up all these bags for attendees we are able to make the event and experience for the attendees run more smoothly. Not only do we express our appreciation for their input, we are also providing our help into this great cause.

Members who participated include: Leah Chan(2hrs), Michael Zhang(2hrs), Yubo Sun(2hrs), Kacie Li (2hrs), and Isabelle Tsui (2hrs), Lei Jinrui (2hrs), Serena Wu (2hrs)
