On 7/20/24, Syosset AYLUS volunteers made a return to the CCE farmers market. The CCE farmers market is held at Eisenhower Park where local businesses share their goods with the community 9AM every Saturday. From fresh produce to dog treats, the farmers market attracts well over 250 guests on a bright sunny day. Additionally, CCE has incorporated their CSA program (community supported agriculture) into their booths. With the CSA program, citizens not only get to help out our local farmers but they also get to pick up fresh groceries every week.
This morning, volunteers started as early as 8:20 to help set up the market. From assembling tents to building tables, students finished promptly to get the day started. Furthermore, a new gardening craft was set up at the activities desk for children alongside fun worksheets. At the end of the session, all volunteers helped clean up the tents and wrap up another successful day at the farmers market.
