On July 19, 2024, Pearland volunteers assisted the LSA Special Needs Caring Center’s day habilitation program. In the morning, volunteers helped the center instructors with an exercise class and a Chinese pinyin class. In the afternoon, they organized a mini market for participants to practice real-world living skills, such as counting money, bargaining, budgeting before shopping, and deciding on spending money on the most needed items. The day concluded with a watermelon eating contest. It was an engaging and fun day for the participants.
