At the beginning of July, AYLUS members put out a community announcement about collecting and donating batteries. During the week, community members got in contact about when and where the batteries could be picked up. After the community members scheduled a pick up date, AYLUS members picked up many batteries from community members. Many different kinds of batteries were collected, some rechargeable and some alkaline. AYLUS members plan to continue collecting batteries so that they can be recycled later on.
