AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered for trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park after Hurricane Beryl July 14, 2024

On July 14, 2024, members of the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered for trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park from 7-8pm.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, despite the city being strewn with debris and experiencing a multi-day power outage, AYLUS Bellaire members rallied to volunteer for the cleanup efforts at Evelyn’s Park. Volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags to collect trash from the park as they looped through it twice. They frequently picked up plastic straw wrappers in the dining area. They also often picked up beverage containers and snack wrappers and packages on the field and stairs next to the water park. In addition, one volunteer found a dog turd on the field and another who used the vending machine to buy chips disposed of the empty plastic bag accordingly.
The volunteers who attended this event were: (1 hour) Alexander Tang, Ryan Li, Christopher Dai, Calvin Dai, Kyle Tang, Samuel Hu, Jason Chen, David Chen, Shaun Israni.
