On 7/11/2924, Pearland volunteers conducted a bucket drumming lesson for teens with special needs at GiGi’s Playhouse Sugarland center.
Despite a hurricane and massive power outage, which limited attendance to four youths, the session was engaging and productive. It began with a review of the previous lesson, followed by practice on tempos and beats. The volunteers led the “Red, Yellow, Green” game to help participants practice playing softly, loudly, and stopping on cue. As usual, the session included drumming along to a popular song. The event concluded with the volunteers giving out temporary tattoos and stickers to the participants.
