Riverside County AYLUS Members Volunteer at a Local Senior Home on July 9th, 2024

On July 9th, 2024, several RCA members volunteered at a local senior home. As the seniors spend the majority of their time inside the facility, especially during the summer heat, entertainment within the home has become a more important factor.
In order to help exercise their hands and enhance their mobility, the senior home hosted a clay texture event where the residents were able to work with polymer clay. The Riverside County AYLUS members assisted during this event. It was a fun afternoon where they shared stories while working on different polymer items from architectural structures to animals such as an octopus, elephant and a rabbit to name a few. Once done, the RCA members helped clean up the table and moved onto hosting several fun BINGO games.
Playing different games throughout the week has become a fun event and the seniors love the interaction with the younger generation. RCA wants to keep supporting the senior home by lending a helping hand whenever time permits.
Volunteers:
1:45pm – 4:15pm
Evan Chang, Kyan Chang and Sophie Chung (2.5 hrs each)
