Riverside County AYLUS Members Support Local Senior Home on July 6th, 2024

On July 6th, several RCA members returned to support a local senior home.
The group started with assisting during the ice cream social where they handed out icecream cups that were made according to the specifications of the residents. They then proceeded to form different social tables where they engaged in conversations with the seniors. After that they proceeded with playing several rounds of Bingo.

Engaging with the seniors and volunteering at the local senior homes apart from giving concerts has enriched both sides. The seniors learned more about AYLUS as a group and the RCA members in return learned of different amazing life stories from the residents. Having interaction between the young and elderly has proven to help with keeping the brains of the seniors sharp. It furthermore helps with feelings of loneliness or isolation.

Volunteers:
Time: 2pm-4pm
Evan Chang, Kyan Chang, Michael Brown, Holiday Rothermund (2 hrs. each)
Time: 2pm-3:30pm
Sophie Chung (1.5 hrs)
