Frisco & Plano Held Used Batteries Recycling Event at Frisco Environmental Collection Center on July 5th, 2024

Reported by Daniel Wang

Recycling can help to extract the raw materials from used batteries and forward them to manufacturing companies for reuse. This also brings down the cost of new batteries. As a result, recycling conserves resources, reduces pollution, and contributes to the economy all in one go.

One week before the event we sent used batteries collection posters to our local communities’ social media webpage and offered free pick up. We were able to collect many used non-rechargeable batteries and some rechargeable batteries.  At 3:30 pm on June 16th 2023, we gathered together at the Frisco Environmental Collection Center and recycled all non-rechargeable batteries into the collection container.  We plan to recycle the rechargeable batteries at Home Depot once we receive more.  We not only advocated the importance of battery recycling but spread the spirit of our organization – AYLUS. We will continue our used batteries recycling event going forward to benefit our communities and keep our cities clean.
