On July 2nd, 2024, Sophie Chung and Holiday Rothermund volunteered to help clean-up a local neighborhood park. They went to a nearby lake to clean the green areas and walking trails. There was trash in the bushes and on the trails as well as grassy areas. When they were finished, they disposed of the trash they had collected by putting it into the trash bin.
Keeping the local community park and the surrounding area clean has been a continuous effort of the branch. The group wants to help remind people to be mindful and to not throw trash aimlessly into bushes or onto the ground. With this type of event, the group wants to help keep the environment and the local flora and fauna intact.
