On June 29, 2024, members of the Fairfax AYLUS branch helped the McLean Community Center host their annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration.
July 4th, Independence Day, commemorates the declaration of independence of the thirteen American colonies from British rule. To celebrate this historic holiday, the McLean Community Center hosted an event full of fun. Food trucks offered a variety of delicious options, and goodies like glow sticks and frisbees were available. The event concluded with a beautiful fireworks display.
AYLUS members supported the community’s efforts by directing visitors to viewing locations, distributing free goodies to children and parents, and ensuring that everyone had a great time.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
Best, Hanna
