On Saturday, June 29th, three competitive swimmers and volunteers from AYLUS Pearland – Yurong, Yushan, and Jordana taught swimming lessons to community kids. This is the 5th lesson in a 9-week-long series.
In the beginning, we did some dryland to warm up then they got in the water. We started teaching them breaststroke. Jordana helped Barry work on his breast kick using a kickboard. Yurong taught Andy how to enhance his breast stroke kicks. Yushan helped Darren with his breast stroke arms so he could swim faster. Later, we all worked on their freestyle and at last they all free-kick raced.
This lesson went well, and everyone improved on something. The children enjoyed the lesson very much, especially enjoyed the race they had towards the end.
