AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered for trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park on June 23, 2024

On June 23, 2024, members of the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered for trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park.

From 6:00pm to 7:00pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old plastic grocery bags to collect trash/litter around Evelyn’s Park. The volunteers picked up a variety of trash, including food wrappers, straws, and plastic containers. Two volunteers found glass beer bottles, which were safely disposed of.

Volunteers covered most of the park, including the restaurant area, playground, field, pavilion, and the sidewalk on Bellaire Blvd. There was an area next to the main office which was closed off for a private event, so volunteers were unable to pick up trash from those areas.

Volunteers picked up a total of 10 bags worth of trash, each weighing between one and three pounds.

The following volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Miranda Wang, Valerie Yu, Samantha Yu, Isabel Li, Yuruo Shen, Albert Ying, Katherine Guo, Alexander Tang, Owen Cheng, and Khang Nguyen.
