AYLUS Syosset Helps in a Shoprite Food Drive (6/23/24)

On 6/23/24, volunteers in AYLUS Syosset went to Deer Park’s Shoprite to aid in a food drive run by Long Island Cares. The volunteers stood at the entrance of the supermarket, handing out flyers with the most needed items and telling customers about LI Cares.  Many of said customers donated the non perishables listed such as pastas, cereals, canned goods, baby food (and more) which members sorted into boxes to donate.

LI Cares is a food bank founded by Harry Chapin and brings together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island. They strive to also educate the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.  The food bank is said to distribute more than 10 million pounds of food and supplies annually.
