On June 21st, 2024, AYLUS Great Neck Branch hosted their incredible weekly Friday sports day to promote physical activity for children all around Great Neck, including ones with special needs. Today, all members decided to do a plethora of activities during the beginning of the activity featuring badminton, soccer, and jump rope. After this short period of time, all volunteers decided to play freeze tag in the playground with the special needs kid. We all had an incredible time playing freeze tags which created a healthy and enjoyable environment for all kids. These incredible and fun activities helped special needs children, but helped boost physical activity for all the volunteers helping. These interactions help prevent many diseases and promote a healthy and enjoyable life. From all of these activities, we hope that we help special needs kids to feel included and more comfortable around people
