In the morning of June 19, 2024, Pearland volunteers organized the second mini-market for the LSA Special Needs Caring Center. This project aimed to help individuals with special needs practice their money management and life skills. Volunteers set up sale booths offering various items such as school supplies, toys, and snacks. Participants used earnings from their household chores to purchase items they liked, practicing their money-handling and bargaining skills with the assistance of volunteers. Following the shopping session, volunteers accompanied the participants as they practiced their sales skills by selling lemonade to the staff and students at the intern program. In the afternoon, the volunteers led a painting session where participants drew alligators and learned about these animals. This activity combined creative expression with educational content, enriching the participants’ knowledge and artistic skills.
