Event 4- Summer Meal Drive with Community Food Bank of New Jersey for under-represented students (Session 1)

On June 12, 2024, the Aylus Morris Branch volunteered in partnership with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey  (CFBNJ) in Hillside, New Jersey for the Summer Meal Drive. Many underprivileged students rely on schools to provide meals. However, because there is no school in the summer, these students often end up without a consistent food supply. Because of this situation, the members of the branch were inspired to help through the Summer Meal Drive. The group created and distributed flyers and collected preservable foods to spread the word around the neighborhood. In total, the branch collected 51 pounds of food. On June 12, they checked expiration dates, packed, sorted, and dropped off the items at CFBNJ.
