On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, 6/16/24, some AYLUS members and the Fortune Star Band put on a whimsical performance at Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theater. Being invited to participate in the Indian American Night event, it was a great opportunity to display the cultural wonders between Chinese, American, and Indian communities, allowing ethnic admiration, harmony, and expression. The band performed songs of both American and Chinese origin, including Viva la Vida, Sea of Stars (a Chinese pop song that was translated into English), and Take on Me. Additional songs were also performed by the band’s chamber ensemble, consisting of New Spring Happiness and Chrysanthemum Terrace. These two songs were popular songs, well known in the Chinese Community. New Spring Happiness was a tune played during the Spring Festival, and Chrysanthemum Terrace was a song produced by the famous singer, Jay Chou. With the band’s contribution and lively music, everyone was evoked with amazement through its enchanting melodies. After the performance, the crowd erupted into applause, and the band was praised for its talent. The band’s presence left their audience with yet another vivid memory.
