On 6/8/24, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, AYLUS members volunteered at Undies For Everyone
Undies For Everyone is a volunteer organization in Houston, Texas founded in 2012 that aims to provide new underwear for children living in poverty or crisis. Clean, new underwear is important to a child’s well-being and assures that they meet their hygienic needs. In 2021 alone, UFE provided 7 pairs of underwear for over 100,000 students across the United States.
This Saturday, the volunteers organized and packaged underwear to be sent to the children. They sorted the underwear into plastic bags, then used a sticker to seal them and organize them by size. The employees showed the volunteers how to roll the underwear up and seal the bags they were sorted into.
The volunteers who attended this event were (2 hours): Alexander Tang, Zijian Wang, Sheila Liu, Yuze Han, Hannah Guo, Sophie Tuan, Ryan Li, Catherine Slezak, and Miranda Wang.
