SMILE 4 Special Needs (#126): Pearland Branch Taught Bucket Drumming at GiGi’s Playhouse (#1) on June 6th, 2024

AYLUS Pearland volunteers initiated a new project at GiGi’s Playhouse for individuals with Down syndrome, introducing them to bucket drumming. On June 6th, 2024, the first day of the project, AYLUS volunteers arrived at GiGi’s Playhouse in Sugar Land. They taught seven teenagers the basics of bucket drumming, starting with different sounds produced by striking various parts of the bucket. The session included taking turns and culminated in the teens following the rhythm of a popular song. The teens were rewarded with stickers and raffle tickets, which can be used to win prizes at the end of the project.

This event marked a new milestone in the outreach efforts of AYLUS Pearland.
