Today May 31 2024 volunteers from the great neck’s aylus program gathered at firefighter park to support and show passion toward special needs children. Firefighter park is located in great neck plaza. The park is welcoming to all people, it is very relaxing and has a little breeze during the day. The park includes jungle gyms, and a grass field where you could run and play. During this event they did activities that we had planned beforehand : soccer, ping pong, jump rope. They all participate in playing ping pong and jump rope the most. Throughout this event the volunteers would help the children that need attention. This creates a comfortable and safe environment for the autistic children.
They want to create a place where these children could learn and have fun. It also help connect and improve their athletic skill. After the event these kids with special needs are now feeling more comfortable to interact with others.
