On 5/16/24, West Essex AYLUS volunteered with Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) to support the annual talent show for special needs individuals on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The talent show started at 7:00 p.m. in Room T3 on the lower level of the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue.
The evening began with the opening music performed by West Essex AYLUS members Kayla Fang, Rena Wang, Jessica Yu, Hubert Zhang, Hadrian Zheng and other LHS students. They performed “Do Re Me,” “Under the Sea” and a montage of songs from the movie “Frozen.”
The special needs participants then performed at the talent show. Our members performed with the Little Sunshine Chorus who sang the sweet tune ” You Are My Sunshine.”
After the solo performances, everyone did “The Chicken Dance” together in the front of the room. The smiles and laughter were contagious throughout the evening. Each performer received a necklace with a medal on it and could choose a stuffed animal prize.
