On 5/22/2024, Aylus Great Neck hosted another tutoring session for students at the Great Neck Library Station Branch. We arrived at the library at around 4:30PM.
Our first student wanted to learn more about math in the grade above her current grade, but she needed to learn more English vocabulary to be able to work with the math of the next grade. Thus, our volunteers Xingzhi Li and Nathan Yu tried to teach her the words she needed to work with the new problems. Nathan provided example problems, while Xingzhi tried to explain those problems to her.
Our second student wanted to complete their homework while also doing some math problems. Our volunteer Yucheng Fu helped her complete those tasks well.
Finally, our last student also wanted to complete their homework while working on some IXL problems. Our volunteer Elaine Xing helped her with that task as well.
After about an hour, our volunteers said their goodbyes and left.
