AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers at CP Nassau home on 5/18/24 (2nd)

On May 18, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Great Neck Branch of Aylus volunteered at a home run by the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County (CP Nassau). The homes provide a safe and positive living environment for people living with disabilities. Today our volunteers planned many fun activities including arts and crafts, baking, and games. We started with arts and crafts which included painting piggy banks and painting sun catchers. The residents each chose their favorite colors and the volunteers helped them to paint. Afterwards, we baked Chinese egg tarts. Each resident got to help with each step, whether it was mixing, pouring, or even cracking an egg. They all had a lot of fun. Afterwards, while the egg tarts were in the oven, the residents had some food and the volunteers made some keychains for some of the residents. Then, the egg tarts were done, and each resident ate a delicious egg tart. Next, we played some games including uno and headbanz. The residents enjoyed the games very much, and it was a wonderful experience for everyone.
