On 5/11/24, members of AYLUS Syosset went to the Planting Fields Arboretum to help destroy the vines ( invasive species ) that were preventing the trees from growing in a healthy condition. After arriving at Planting Fields Arboretum, the trees were completely covered by vines that were tightly wrapped around the tree. Members of the Syosset used tools such as pitchforks, rakes, and grape hoe law rakes to clean up the vines and the fallen leaves from the tree. During the 3 hours, we got the vines cleaned out and the amount of vines that were being removed filled the car 3 times. As a member of the AYLUS family, I think it is our job to protect the environment and give the community a better and more comfortable place to live around.
