The annual gathering of AYLUS Oyster Bay, themed “Uniting for Impact,” was successfully hosted at the Sangha Education Center on April 27, 2024. At 10 am, we arrived at this elegant historic landmark and set up projectors and chairs in the meeting room, placing certificates and gifts on the desk. As the meeting commenced, Congressional Candidate Mike LiPetri and his assistant made a surprise entrance, and we were honored by Mr. LiPetri’s presence.
Our president, Christina Mink, and her team provided a comprehensive summary of our past achievements and outlined future endeavors. Mr. LiPetri delivered an inspiring speech to encourage us and presented awards to seven young members: Christina Mink, Ariel Liyu Dai, Pengyu Chen, Wanying Yu, Dylón Gray-Cohen, and Johnny Chen, who received Citations issued by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blackman. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. LiPetri for his support and encouragement.
After the meeting, members enjoyed a communal lunch with Christine Keller, Director of the Sangha Education Center, and her team, fostering friendships and meaningful discussions. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Sangha Education Center for generously allowing us to use their facilities, as well as to our dedicated young members and their supportive parents for their unwavering support and trust.
Gratitude to the following 13 young volunteers, totaling 37 volunteer hours collectively.
