On 2/17/24 West Essex AYLUS members volunteered at the Central Jersey Regional Lunar New Year Festival hosted at Raritan Valley Community College (118 Lamington Rd, Branchburg, NJ 08876).
The concert was attended by a large audience of community members who all really liked the show, giving great applause to the performances and the volunteers as well, for helping make the concert a great experience. The concert included performances of all kinds including traditional Chinese dance, singing, drums, dragon dance, and martial arts.
West Essex members arrived as early as 9:00 am in the morning for the dress rehearsal. Members with Starry Arts Group opened the show with National Anthem. Then members performed A Spring Dawn. “A Spring Dawn” is an ancient Chinese poem. Starry Arts Group has been actively performing locally, statewide, and nationally, including the World Cultural Festival in Washington DC in 2023.
On the same day, some members volunteered at the Lunar New Year 2024 with AAPI Montclair show.
