A Thanksgiving to Remember: AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch Volunteers at ALFC Generosity Center on 11/18/2023
The spirit of giving was in full swing on November 18, 2023, as 18 enthusiastic volunteers from the AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch came together at the ALFC Generosity Center. This special Thanksgiving event was marked by the distribution of 2,500 turkeys and Stater Bros gift cards, ensuring that community members in need could enjoy a festive and bountiful holiday season.
Beginning their day at 8:00 AM, the volunteers, ranging from middle to high school students, joined forces with adult volunteers to manage the distribution process. Their tasks included organizing the turkeys and gift cards, greeting community members, and ensuring that each family received their share with a smile. The teamwork and collaboration between the young volunteers and the adults were a testament to the community’s unity and shared goal of making a positive impact.
The efforts of the volunteers did not go unnoticed. The expressions of gratitude from the recipients highlighted the importance of the event, making it a truly rewarding experience for everyone involved. As the distribution concluded at 12:00 PM, the volunteers took a moment to reflect on the joy and warmth they had helped spread, reaffirming their commitment to community service.
The volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to this cause were Xinnuo Huang, Yongxi Hu, Morgan Li, Xinxin Wang, Zhu Zhu, Xinran Zhang, Zichen Zhu, Ziyu Zhu, Waiki Hou, Yangxuezhe Sun, Chengzhou Ye, Jeff Si, Xinyu Huang, Mindong Qiu, Zihao Zhang, Tommy Tang, Elaine Wang, and Jiayi Bai. Each volunteer contributed 4 hours, totaling 72 hours of service to the community through this event.
This Thanksgiving event not only provided essential support to families in need but also served as a powerful reminder of the impact of collective effort and the spirit of giving.
