Today, on April 21st, we made bracelets to prepare for three big fundraising events in May: Plano Asian Festival, TMMTD, and McKinney Public Library’s East & West Fest. Since this was the first time for most of us to meet each other, we started off the event with self-introductions. This was also our first time making bracelets, so we continued our session by first watching a tutorial on bracelet markings. After this point, it was pretty smooth sailing. We all sat around the table, making bracelets, and talking with one another, and every so often we had to pause for a bit to get more materials. Just like that two hours passed and we had made around 36 bracelet. At the end of our session, we had a little fun and made pearl milk tea to drink. This ended up being a perfect time to socialize and conclude our session as people gradually left. Overall this was a really nice and calm experience, that not only allowed us to learn a new skill but also more about each other. It feels good to making new friends, having fun while supporting a great cause.
