On 04/17/2024, Members of Syosset ALYUS participated in the Multicultural Gala Celebration at Farmingdale State University. This event was sponsored by the Auxiliary room Service Corporation and Student Government Association to promote “United in Diversity.”
After the keynote speaker, our members performed the Dragon Dance and wished the audience good luck in the Year of the Dragon. In the Chinese culture, dragons symbolize wisdom, power, and auspiciousness.
Although we weren’t familiar with the new stage, we quickly warmed up and adapted to the environment. We proudly worked as a team to make collaborative moments. It is important for us to preserve culture because it is essential for promoting an understanding about cultural diversity. Every culture needs nurturing and respect from everyone.
