AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch at ALFC Generosity Center: Community Service in Action (10/21/2023)
It was an early Saturday morning on October 21, 2023, when the ALFC Generosity Center became a bustling hub of activity. Ten volunteers from the AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch, all middle and high school students, gathered to help out in our community. We were there to distribute food to anyone in need, and everyone was eager to get started.
The day kicked off at 8:00 AM. Our main task was to organize, pack, and hand out all sorts of food items, including fruits, vegetables, bread, and canned goods. With so much to do, we all jumped right in. It was a bit overwhelming at first with the long line of cars waiting, but seeing how many people we were helping made it all worth it.
We worked non-stop for five hours, but time flew by because we were all working together. It was amazing to see how much we could accomplish as a team. And even though it was super hot outside, nobody complained. We were all focused on helping as many people as we could.
After the event, we all felt really proud of what we had done. It was a lot of hard work, but knowing that we made a difference in our community made it all worthwhile. Plus, it was a great way to spend a Saturday, doing something meaningful with friends.
Each volunteer contributed 5 hours of certified volunteer time during this event. The volunteers who participated are: Yongxi Hu, Morgan Li, Jingning Wu, Jiahe Song, Bryan Wang, Xinyu Huang, Ryan Wang, Yixuan Yuan, Jingwei Shu, Yang Liu,
We’re all looking forward to the next event at the Generosity Center. It’s a really good feeling to help out, and we encourage more students to join us next time. It’s a great way to make a difference and see firsthand how even a small act of kindness can have a big impact.
